Whether you take out one of our black box policies which require an engineer to fit your device, or it is self-install, the cost is already included in your policy. So, as long as you don’t miss your appointment, you won’t have to pay when your fitting takes place.

Once your box has been fitted, the smart technology will start to collect data. This includes:
- how quickly you accelerate
- the sharpness of your braking
- the speed you drive at
- the time of your journeys
This information tells us how safely you are driving, and we use it to provide you with a Driving Behaviour score. The higher your score, the better driver you are, and the more personalised your premium could be. If your score falls, you may be required to pay more – but we’ll offer you tips on how to improve if this happens. You can earn a more customised premium as your score increases over time.
