If you have a WiseDriving policy but don’t drive safely, your premium will increase but we’ll try and help you get better by sending you regular updates and feedback on your performance. Telematics devices collect information about how you accelerate and brake, along with the speed and time of day that you drive.
This information then creates a Driving Behaviour Score. The safer you drive, the higher your Driving Behaviour Score. If you score well, you could reduce the premium you pay.
You’ll have your own personalised dashboard to monitor your driving and, as your driving behaviour improves, you’ll earn a more personalised premium.
How does it work?
Engineer Installed Black Box
Our engineers will contact you to book an appointment for your black box fitting. This must take place within 2 weeks of your policy starting. If you’re going on holiday, don’t take out a policy until you come back. Make sure you keep your appointment with the engineer who’ll come out and install your telematics device. Once the box is in place, it will start scoring your driving.
Self-Installed Black Box
We’ll send you a black box in the post within 4 to 6 days of your policy purchase date, alongside instructions on how to install it onto your car’s battery. Once the device has been installed, we’ll start monitoring you as you drive.
